DOGE and Elon Musk have lied by making broad statements on large scale fraud (without providing any proof whatsoever) in the social security system which is total BS! Allowing an army of unvetted and inexperienced 20-something gamers into our SS systems, when they never learned COBOL, and accessing our private data is a brutal breach of cybersecurity! Donald Trump has lied to us over and over as well or is having mental problems ( e.g. Ukraine started the war against Russia)!

President Trump has lied repeatedly. If Elon Musk is not in charge of DOGE in court then who is? President Trump has repeatedly said it is Elon. If Elon had read only access then how is he allowed to dismiss federal employees and close down departments, which should be done with Congressional approval but is not. They are not finding waste, but closing down entire agencies and dismissing federal employees with no evidence or proof of waste or fraud. They are just cutting services with no reason but to come up with the money needed to give tax breaks to the wealthy. Independent certified accountants are needed to find waste not Elon Musk or his questionable staff of helpers. Elon Musk should not have access to our data as his outside businesses are a conflict of interest. There is a lack of transparency and lawsuits will follow if problems occur with individual accounts.

No that info wasn’t beneficial to me . It same as it always was. My Greatest concern is what is going to happen to current is what is going to happen to the ones who currently draw social security. I figure the amount of our checks will decreased our checks and cut Medicare coverage
God lord willing there won’t be any negative to us citizens only Positive.
    Thank you

Unrelated issue: I am one of millions of U.S. citizens residing or retired overseas. Inside the SS system we are required to give an address to have statements and tax data mailed to us. 1000s of us have U.S. Postal Embassy/military APO/FPO mailing addresses, BUT the system’s only options are the 50 U.S. states, MEANING that our documents must be mailed to our actual physical address in a foreign country where mail service is often unreliable. FIX THIS !

I am sorry I have a difficult time believing anything coming
Out of Washington with all the chaos going on and the lies we are being told. As well as, eliminating position that are critical to our health, safety, and security!

As a retired fed (38 years), I have indeed witnessed abuses, fraudulent activities, and the like; everyone has at times- the government has a large footprint. That said, while the commissioner indicated DOGE has limited Read-Only access in SSA, such access can still result in damaging consequences: copying/pasting of data, filtering data for external use, etc. by individuals with no SSA experience.
It becomes difficult to trust non-experts in DOGE as to SSA efficiencies – we have OIG experts, good or bad, who should be trusted to perform their auditing tasks as usual.

In a system with such a large number of records, there is never a ‘stable point.’ Because it involves people and is managed by people.

Therefore, systems of this size are initially designed with consideration for human errors – typos, recognition errors, reconciliation errors, rounding errors, and so on. And the fact that people may not have birth dates or these dates might be unknown. And there’s no one to ask. And yes – fraud, with fake documents and so forth. Because if you think that any person is a fraud expert and will understand exactly how they were deceived by a carefully planned combination – I have bad news for you. This is exactly why an automatic plan with ‘select right now’ doesn’t work in 1 second.”

To my understanding, the DOGE staff is violating the Privacy Act, being allowed access to our Social Security & Treasury records. Read-only access does not stop these un-vetted staff members from copying, using, or selling our personal information. Have these people at least been required to sign legal documents affirming that our information will not be released or used in any way now or in the future- so that we have a means of legal repercussion if they do misuse our private data? If they have not, then this is Not an honest effort to fix government spending, but instead a power grab where all U.S. citizens will suffer from theft, loss of privacy, &/or leveraged into poverty. Give us the full & accurate facts of what is happening.

Read-only access is troubling enough if you believe that. But WHO is it who is really getting even Read-only access? I’m supposed to trust DOGE 20-somethings? Oversight of all agencies created by Congress belong in Congress. DOGE has not had Congressional approval to do anything.
