House in HandNovember is National Homelessness Awareness Month. Social Security provides helpful resources to serve the unique needs of people experiencing homelessness.

We are proud to be one of 19 federal agencies that partner with the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). We are committed to its admirable mission to prevent and end homelessness in America.

People with health conditions, including severe mental health issues, are more likely to experience homelessness. They can die nearly 30 years earlier than healthier Americans, according to Interagency Council data.

If you are experiencing homelessness or are at risk

Visit our People Experiencing Homelessness & Their Service Providers webpage to find links to housing assistance programs and national organizations that can help with the disability application. You’ll also find specific information for veterans, youth aging out of foster care, people who are exiting criminal justice settings, and those who are temporarily institutionalized.

If you are homeless and have a disability, you have the same rights and privileges when you apply for disability as someone who is not homeless. Learn how to apply at the links below:

Please tell us when you apply if you are experiencing homelessness, so we can better assist you with your application.

If you help people experiencing homelessness

I knew it.. I was right for years. Do not EVER print one more lie about running low on funds that could end benefits for the hard working people that paid into your ponzi scheme. FDR concocted the SSA for Federal Govt employees and their dependent’s as a retirement program and those who became disabled while employed. Same with the Federal Income tax that allowed them to receive a %age back yearly. Both programs were created for ONLY Fed workers. But stealing the people’s gold and silver wasn’t good enough for old FDR the crook he seen SSA as a private slush fund by allowing everyone to participate. Give a corrupt govt and inch and it will take a mile. FDR never informed the public it was not for them he was too busy drooling over how he was going to spend all that extra money on… himself. Even violated his own rules, any president uses funds must replace those funds. Lying thieves. SSA has constantly lied about low funds for decades because it sees our money as it’s personal piggy bank. Our money has funded illegals “better life” for decades. Including Obama’s Muslim refugees. Billions has gone out to them while you tell us benefit funds will dry up. No lie you tell us will be believed ever, NEVER. Doge confirmed your corruption and so much more. STOP harassing us with your fake BS emails to report FRAUD.. YOU ARE THE FRAUD, THE LIARS, THE THIEVES. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE YOU SICKEN ME. You cried to the people that your workers couldn’t muti-task by answering phones and sending checks, too much work for these lazy milkers since the only ones that have suffered of course are the people. It’s time you explain why the people need a lawyer to apply for benefits, it better be good. Nothing these crooks did for me I couldn’t have done for myself, since I filled it all out myself and that is when you said a lawyer had to submit it!?!? BS, I made all my own copies of paperwork, so tell me why I was FORCED to give my money to a lazy thief lawyer, 1,000’s$ she did no work and she got money before I did. I will go to every blog demanding an explanation to this extortion until the people get the truth.
You are the reason why people became homeless, too lazy to send checks out so you force your Direct Express Debit card to receive your benefits. You chose the WORST card on the market that hackers have stolen millions and millions off of our most vulnerable, elderly and disabled. 1 in 5000 will receive a portion returned. Disputes are denied without any reason, every month 2,3,400$ was stolen totalling 6,211.00$ over 4 yrs, only 23.00$ was returned. I couldn’t pay my rent out of the 855.00$ I receive and was evicted, everything thrown in the street, no money and no where to go at 64 yrs old. Never ever been homeless, June of 2022, hot as hell. My service buddy and I lived in my tiny car without AC and transmission had 2 gears. Nobody willing to help me, no hotel vouchers and rooms going for 110.00 nite in a dump. But you couldn’t be bothered to terminate that card and refused to listen to anyone. And it is still happening today for these people. Class action lawsuits are worthless cause banks are above the law and only care about profits. Just like SSA. So I would like to file a fraud report on SSA on behalf of all the elderly and disabled. Return all the denied disputes you owe us and then resign, I don’t care if you was just assigned there, we don’t need crooks to fill out an app. We do not need govt to dissolve a private Corporation govt agency, the people have the power to do it themselves and it’s time WE WORK FOR OURSELVES.
